Joe woke me up with a text Saturday suggesting we head downtown for a nice romantic dinner out. I concurred ... why wouldn't I concur? :) So we took the train out and headed down to Ditka's (Da Bears!) for beers and steaks...

As we waited for our table, we had a couple of brewski's
and I noticed as I looked down into my glass that the bottoms
had footballs etched in. How cool is that?!

Also shortly after the beers, we met Mike Ditka himself
(in cartoon form, of course) on these here coasters!

We shared a bundt-cake sized plate of onion rings
that were very tasty. Joe and I dug right in!

I had a filet with a blue cheese crust (probably the
best I've ever had, and I love the Wildfire steaks too,
but this steak was just about perfect!)
Joe had prime rib. It was humongous and he pretty much killed it.
So proud of you, honey :)

The service was excellent; our waiter pulled off
the 'Da Superfans' accent very well, and he offered to take
our picture after we had stuffed our faces full of food!
Here we are with a portrait of 'Da Coah'.

Afterwards, we headed to Butch McGuire's Irish pub :)
Although many hooligans were there watching sports games
and whatnot, there was a cute table along the back wall
that just called out to us, and we were able to talk and laugh
just fine. Here I am with the only Smithwick's I had of the night.

It started to get a little loud, so I resorted to writing
on a napkin to Joe what was on my mind:
Dear Joe,
I love you. The way you scarfed down that prime rib
was very attractive.
Love, Erin
(Okay, really I was drawing little phrases in stick figures and
'hieroglyphics' as Joe called them to see if he could figure them
out :)

But wait! He responded!
Dear Erin,
I dedicate the following to you:
Buuuuuuuuuuurp!
Okay, now I must get back to practicing
for Ireland!
Love, Joe

Do you think he's ready for Ireland in May?
I do....
Blessings to all!
~Erin
