Yep, it's getting to be that time. Erin and I have started one of our registries at JC Penney. We don't have much on it yet. Actually, we just have our bath towels and bedding. However, it took us forever to find bedding that both of us liked. It also had to match the bedroom. Since Erin will be moving into my current apartment we already know the colors. We painted the walls an almond color. We put my old earthtone green sofa in the bedroom and surrounded it with a horizontal and vertical booshelf. The bookshelfs and night stands are a tobacco color. It'll be a good place for Erin to read when I watch the Irish, Celtics and Sox. Well ... she might still need to get out of the apartment for Irish football games and Celtics vs Lakers ;-) Anyways, after months of looking online, Bed Bath and Beyond and JC Penney, we have found our bedding. We don't know if we will register for anything else with JC Penney. We think most of the stuff will come from Bed Bath and Beyond.
Also, on Friday, Erin and I started our pre-marital counseling at Holy Family. We had to take a 150 question questionnaire on how well we know each other and what we've planned for. We actually enjoyed talking about the questions afterwards. Some of the questions made us laugh because we already knew the answers. For example, "Your future spouse always needs to win, Agree or Disagree?" Umm ... everyone knows I am highly competitive and Erin prefers to go with the flow. We complement each other well ;-) The two ladies that talked to us were extermely kind. In fact, the next day when we were at Chili's for dinner, a woman just pulled up a chair at our table, sat down and said "Hello." It was Mary Whiteside, the coordinator of the Unitas program. We were amazed she was even able to place us. We are very happy to be part of Holy Family. It truly is a special Christian community. We hope meeting with sponsor and other engaged couples will help us get more involved in the community. We really need other fellowship outside of the two of us and our families.
Cute Moment: Erin and I went and saw "Taken" starring Liam Neeson over the weekend, which we enjoyed. Liam Neeson is one of my favorite actors. Anyways, Erin found it so intense that her arm was sore by the end of the movie from clenching my arm the whole time. It made me feel good that she latched on to me when things got scarey/intense. I gladly accept the role as her protector ... 2nd to Jesus. That's all for now. If you would like to see what's on the registry so far, click the link below. I have also posted a permanent "Registry" tab on the left side of the window. Have a great week!
